2014 open season gets underway

Park News
Saturday, 22nd March 2014 By Dan Ketteringham

Today sees the start of the full 2014 open season at the Alton Towers theme park.

The big new development of the year, CBeebies Land, won't be ready until late May.

However, that doesn't mean there aren't other noticeable changes around the park. The biggest one being the removal of Submission after 13 years at the park.

The Smiler has also had a lot of work done to it over the closed season, with the aim of improving the queue line area's drainage in heavy rain, and the reliability of the ride itself after a series of high-profile failures last year. The queue line has also had a section added to cope with the demand for the popular rollercoaster.

Here's to an exciting season ahead!
