Submission to be retired

Park News
Monday, 3rd February 2014 By Dan Ketteringham

Submission, the Chance Rides double inverter next to Oblivion, is to be retired.

The ride, which made its debut back in March 2001, will be removed before the start of the 2014 open season.

Submission was never a fan-favourite - despite being visually impressive, the experience itself was often said to be uncomfortable or even slightly painful.

It also ran with just one of the two arms operating more often than not, either due to lack of demand or unreliability.

Liz Greenwood, Corporate Communications Manager at Alton Towers, said: "Ride removal is part of our long term plan so this isn't anything out of the ordinary.

"[Submission] will be taken off the website this week and of course won't be on the new gate map."
