Alton Towers Scarefest

Park News
Thursday, 24th May 2007 By Dan Ketteringham

It may be almost five months away, but planning for the park's Halloween event is well and truly under way.

The name of the event has now been confirmed as The Alton Towers Scarefest, slightly different to the earlier reported name ("Fearfest"). A tag line of "be as scared as you dare" is being used in promotional material for the event.

Posters used to advertise the event (click to enlarge)

This poster and ones like it will be used around the resort soon to not only advertise the Halloween event, but also demonstrate that it will be suitable for all ages. It's thought that each attraction will be given a "scare" rating to help people decide whether or not to join the queue. So you'd expect the mazes (Terror of the Towers, Room 13, The Haunted Cornfield etc.) so rank quite highly, but there will also be activities of a less scary nature for the little ones.

In addition to the posters, the park have also been busy creating promotional photos and videos for the Scarefest, with actors dressed as zombies and ghouls posing in the ruins.

Over at the Hotels, the Haunted Cornfield maze is starting to grow, and as a teaser the park have put a Halloween scarecrow on it.
