Park News
Saturday, 17th February 2001 By Steve Taylor

Alton Towers is no stranger to obtaining awards almost every season, and 2001 is no exception.

Before the park even opens in March, they have got another trophy to put in their cabinet, as they have been awarded the "Thrill of the Year" award for the roller coaster Oblivion, by the people at The Good Britain Guide 2001.

Oblivion first opened to the public in 1998, and is still one of only two of its kind in the world.
