Police were yesterday questioning the girl about allegations she had been drinking before the attack.
The 15-year-old, from Coventry, alleged she was lured to a secluded area of the Staffordshire theme park while on a school trip on July 8 - then repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted.
She claimed she sought medical help from staff for a panic attack immediately after the incident but did not tell them she had been raped.
It was 15 days before she made a formal complaint to police.
Yesterday, an Alton Towers spokesman said the park had no record of the girl being treated by staff for anything other than the after-effects of drinking alcohol.
Police sources said there were "quite a few inconsistencies" in her story and that she was due to be interviewed about the claims she had been drinking.
