Park reopens to guests following snow closure

Park News
Tuesday, 26th March 2013 By Jayne Sargeant

However, the cold snap is continuing to disrupt operations

Following the unprecedented closure of Alton Towers for three days due to the large snowfall at the weekend, the park reopened to guests on Monday 25th March.

Staff worked hard to make sure that there were safe routes around the park, but the continuing cold snap has affected ride operations. All water rides have remained closed and many of the larger roller coasters have not reopened for health and safety reasons.

Alton Towers are continuing to keep guests up to date through their Twitter feed and Weather Updates page. If you're planning a trip in the lead up to the Easter weekend, make sure you check these updates before travelling, as the cold weather appears to sticking around for a bit longer.

If you are in a group, try and get a "Photopass" so the cost of on-ride photos is cheaper.
