Christmas opening in 2011?

Resort News
Tuesday, 29th March 2011 By Chris Bennett

Yesterday's article in The Sentinel hinted that Alton Towers Resort will be opening the theme park for Christmas celebrations for the first time.

Whilst no further information was given, we have seen Alton Towers shift their Christmas celebrations from the hotel grounds and car parks into the theme park. The last two years have seen Towers Street decked in festive glory and the Mutiny Bay and Old MacDonalds Farmyard areas of the park open for guests to enjoy.

If the park is to be opened to the public, it will be interesting to see if a larger line up of rides is offered rather than the family orientated focus of the previous years. Alton Towers are keen to extend their opening season but any plans need to be balanced with the need to close rides down for annual maintenance and inspections.

Keep an eye out for more information to be released by Alton Towers as the season progresses.
