Become a Thrill Laboratory guinea pig

Other News
Tuesday, 30th September 2008 By Dan Ketteringham

You are cordially invited to participate in a day of experimentation involving some of the resort's biggest rides.

Thrill Laboratory, who have previously run a Thrill Experiment on Oblivion, are returning to the park in mid-October and are calling on members of the public to help them.

The experiment will run from Monday 13th to Thursday 16th October, and participants will work with scientific experts to discover just how much their hearts race and their faces grimace as they test themselves on each ride.

Some of the roller coasters the experiment will run on will be Nemesis, Air and Rita - Queen of Speed.

Brendan Walker, Director of Thrill Laboratory, explains: "We are searching for a wide range of riders: from novices who feel they might be too timid, to experts who've ridden a hundred times before.

"The 16 entries most closely matching our secret Psychological Thrill Profiles will win!"

All winners will receive copies of their medical data and videos as souvenirs after the event, and refreshments will be provided during the day.

To be in with a chance of taking part in this unique experiment, all you need to do is read the full details about the event, and then fill in the questionnaire to create your Thrill Profile.

Update 13/10/08:
All places have now been filled for the experiments. However, The Thrill Lab team are also looking for reserve candidates - 1 male and 1 female for each day. Both of these reserves can bring a friend each, and will receive the same treatment; free entry on park, priority ticket to ride, plus free lunch. Reserves can attend all parts of the event, just not be experimented on. Apart from that, reserves are free to enjoy the park at their leisure.

The Thrill Lab team hope to have a second trial experiment up and running, which they'd like their reserves to help them with for half a day - again, involves riding lots of rides and telling them about their experiences.

Anyone who's interested can contact Brendan Walker directly on 07775 891492 or info@aerial.fm. The reserve places will be run on a first-come-first-served basis, until all places are filled.
