Great British Bucket and Spade event begins

The Summer Spectacular event begins today, with Alton Towers developing a distinctly seaside feel.

The event, which will run for six weeks between Saturday 22nd July and Sunday 3rd September, is themed around a British seaside.

Beaches have been installed at the bottom of Towers Street and behind the Alton Towers Hotel, complete with deck chairs and of course, buckets and spades.

There is also the chance to win a Beach Hut which is currently touring some of the major cities in the UK.

Please note that the park is expected to be extremely busy during this period.
