The park's official website has revealed details about the first Summer Spectacular since 2002 - The Great British Bucket and Spade event.
The event, which will run from July 22nd to September 3rd, will involve both the theme park and the hotels. Here's what we can expect…
On Park
- A beach on the Park
There will be a beach in front of the lake, where kids (and possibly their parents) can make sandcastles. There will be deckchairs, games around the area, and puppet shows. - Later Closing Times
On selected days (we assume this means weekends) the rides will stay open longer. - Competition
Each day of the event, one guest will be entered into a prize draw to win a beach hut, with the winner being picked the day after the event finishes (September 4th).
At the Hotels
- Private Hotel Beach
As well as an extra 'beach' exclusively for hotel guests, you'll be able to eat your evening meal outside by the lake (weather permitting - this is Britain, after all). - New cinema lounge
The new summer cinema lounge will double as a place to watch "top family movies and kids cartoons", and a family entertainment zone which will feature The Pirate Bill Show. - Beach Party at Splash Landings
Entertainment will be provided for kids, including face painting, balloon modelling and disco.
ATA will of course attend the event during the summer and give our verdict, as well as bringing you plenty of photographs.
» Trip Tip
Take a walk around the gardens, a beautiful, but overlooked feature of the park.
