Oblivion and Rita repairs underway
As we reach the end of January, essential work is about to be carried out on Oblivion and Rita.
Work will begin on Oblivion, which needs a new chain for the lift hill after many years of service, this Monday. The current chain removal will take several days, after which the lift hill will be tested and inspected, and the new chain fitting will commence the following Wednesday (February 8th).
Rita - Queen of Speed needs a new drum inside the winch house. This will require the removal of the winch house's roof to lift the current drum out, and lower the new one in. Work has already begun to detach the steel pulling rope from the current drum, and the major roof work will begin very soon indeed.
