New coaster?
It is almost certain that Alton Towers are to apply for planning permission to install an Intamin Steel, Shuttle-Looping roller coaster on the old Bone Shaker site in Ug Land.
According to ATA's sources, it will be a 'Thunder Looper' style of ride, but with a lower height profile due to planning restrictions. It will apparently be about the size of the old Alton Mouse, and will be marketed as a family ride.
The new roller coaster has a planned opening date for the end of May 2005 or start of June 2005. We will keep you informed as and when we hear any more on this!
