'Boring' accountants offered free fun

The latest in a string of marketing ploys by the park sees Accountants offered free entry.

A press release by the park reads:

This week, an academic report(1) officially proved that accountancy is 'boring'! Often depicted as humourless people in grey suits working in dull, uninspiring, number-crunching environments, the report inferred that accountants need to get a life!

So undeterred by this rather unfair branding, Alton Towers is challenging all accountants to prove that they are up for a thrill by urging them to escape the monotony of spreadsheets, can the calculator and instead check out the g-forces on some of the country's top rides - Rita, Queen of Speed, Oblivion and Nemesis to name a few! And to make it more appealing, from 5th -30th September one accountant can come in free provided they are accompanied by another full paying adult - and that's not a tax dodge!!

Mike Lorimer, Alton Towers Marketing Manager, comments: "We all know that accountants work extremely hard in highly demanding business environments, but we're equally sure that many of them would thoroughly enjoy a day at Alton Towers. We hope they'll recognise a good deal when they see one and give themselves a break this September!"
