Why, where, when?

Over the years this ride has been given a few different themes, but the core ride experience remains very similar.

The ride opened in 1989 as the Canal Boat Ride. Ten years on, it was refreshed as the Riverbank Eye Spy, with buttons added to the boats which played the sounds of the various animals you passed along the ride.

The ride was given a mini-update for the 2007 season, with the previously flat cut-out animals being replaced with new 3D ones.

In 2014, as part of the area's retheme to CBeebies Land, the ride becomes In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride.

This gentle kiddies boat ride takes you on a voyage of discovery, seeing and hearing different characters from In The Night Garden on your journey.
